WORKFLOW GUIDE

Nine planners, one consistent editor.

No separate warehouse/godown or house/apartment copies. Every mode uses the same file format and tools.

Room

Start with the inside dimensions of one room. Add your furniture, update each footprint and arrange it without drawing an entire home. Doors and windows are manual symbols; select them to enter their real size and position.

Measure the wall length, door location and furniture depth before experimenting. Use a dimension line between selected points to inspect a gap. Overlap checks operate on rectangular footprints, so intentional overlaps can produce flags.

House & apartment

Use one outside boundary and draw internal wall segments. Create room zones as non-crossing polygons, name each zone and inspect its area. Leave gaps in wall segments for door openings, then position door and window symbols manually.

Zone areas are polygon areas, not certified carpet or built-up areas. They do not subtract wall thickness automatically. Stair symbols are footprints, not stair design calculations. Use a separate plan for each floor; the editor has no linked floors.

Warehouse / godown

Add racks, pallets, loading bays and equipment footprints. Use receiving, storage and dispatch zones to describe the operational layout. Add flow arrows to show intended movement. Repeat a rack using an array with a measured centre-to-centre pitch.

The array pitch is not an aisle width. For unrotated racks, subtract rack width or depth from the relevant pitch to estimate a simple straight gap. Actual forklift turning, load capacity, stacking limits and fire access require separate assessment.

Factory

Lay out machines and benches using measured equipment footprints. Add conveyor segments, material storage zones and arrows indicating the production sequence. Use dimensions for spacing and lock approved placements while editing surrounding objects.

Footprints do not include moving machine parts, maintenance access, guarding or hazardous-area requirements unless you deliberately include them in the custom dimensions. A flow arrow shows design intent and does not optimize throughput or certify safety.

Office

Arrange workstations, meeting furniture, partitions and reception. Group a desk and chair so they move together, then duplicate the group. Use zones to distinguish work areas, meeting rooms and circulation.

Object counts represent placed items, not regulatory occupancy. Desk and chair overlaps may be deliberate. Circulation, accessibility, ventilation and local workspace requirements must be reviewed outside this concept planner.

Shop & showroom

Arrange shelving, display islands, fitting cubicles and checkout. Add a named flow arrow for a proposed customer route. Keep shared furniture in the same catalog rather than creating duplicate shop-specific copies.

A line indicates a proposed route; the editor does not simulate customers, predict sales, calculate evacuation capacity or assess theft risk. Check merchandising equipment and actual customer access against the measured plan.

Garden & plot

Draw the plot boundary, add planting beds and trees, then place path segments, sheds and irrigation zones. Edit the boundary vertices numerically when the plot has irregular corners. Use zone names for planting or leisure areas.

Plant and tree footprints are schematic and do not predict mature growth. Irrigation zones do not calculate water flow, drainage or pipe sizes. Do not treat the drawn plot as a cadastral or surveyed boundary.

Event & seating

Arrange stages, tables, chairs and booths. Label chairs and tables as required. Use the object array tool for regular seating rows and use named zones to separate the audience, stage and service areas.

Chair counts are the number of placed chair objects, not a certified event capacity. This planner has no ticketing, guest assignment or crowd simulation. Review sight lines, access, temporary structures and emergency routes separately.

Parking

Place parking-bay markers and vehicle footprints separately. Repeat bays using the array tool and mark circulation with named zones and directional arrows. Enter real dimensions for the intended vehicle types.

Bay markers are excluded from collision checks because vehicles intentionally sit inside them. Vehicle collisions are approximate rectangular tests. Turning circles, swept paths, ramps, accessible bays and local parking standards are not validated.

Exact editing and shared tools

Use current display units consistently. Vertices are entered as x,y per line. Draw polygons in perimeter order without crossing edges. Edit wall, arrow and dimension endpoints through their vertex fields. Group selected entities to move them together. Rotate applies to the selected furniture individually, not to entire group geometry. Lock prevents dragging, editing and deletion until unlocked. Bring forward and send backward adjust order within the entity’s layer.

Saving and backup

Save plan keeps multiple named projects in your browser. New empty plan creates a separate save entry; editing and saving an opened project updates its stored entry. JSON downloads are portable backups. The earlier Room Layout Studio JSON is accepted. Imports need this app’s schema and must be smaller than 4 MB; the editor permits 1,000 placed objects and drawings and 100 vertices per polygon.

Exports

SVG and PNG show visible layers fitted to the full boundary. Items outside the boundary may be clipped beyond the export margin. CSV lists all placed objects by type and dimensions, including objects in hidden layers. Print / PDF adds a schedule and zone legend for all objects, even if some layers are hidden. Printed output is for reference and is not guaranteed to be at a fixed physical scale.

Privacy

All files are processed in the browser. No account, uploads, analytics or remote assets are used. Browser storage and downloaded files can still be accessed by someone using your device or browser profile. Keep backups and follow your own data-handling requirements.
